Pet Registration and Vaccinations
All pet dogs 91 days old or older must be registered (this needs to be done only once) and vaccinated against rabies once a year.
* Registration can be done at the Public Hygiene Section, Shinagawa Public Health Center; Shinagawa Health Service Center; Ebara Health Service Center; or at any Chiiki Center (community center). There is a fee of ¥3,000.
* Vaccinations against rabies are administered at a regular group vaccination site. If you are unable to bring your dog to this, then you must have your pet vaccinated at an animal hospital and bring the vaccination certificate to the Health Section, or any health center, health service center or community center, to obtain a rabies vaccination tag (there is a fee of ¥550).
Inquiries: Public Hygiene Section, Shinagawa Public Health Center; Shinagawa Health Service Center; Ebara Health Service Center; and Chiiki Centers (community centers)

If you own a pet, please observe the following rules:

  1. Be sure to dispose of your pet’s waste properly.
  2. Do not let your pet soil or damage public places or other people’s property/buildings.
  3. Do not be a nuisance to your neighbors.
  4. If you lose your pet dog, please call the public health center. In some cases, your pet dog may be kept at an Animal Protection Center or local police station.

Please make your inquiries in Japanese.
